NJ Governor Celebrates Family Leave Insurance Program Success

September 30, 2009

On September 24, 2009, New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine held
an event with participating families to celebrate the successful launch of New Jersey’s Family Leave Insurance Program. The governor announced that more than 5,000 families had participated in the program to date.

About 81% of FLI claims were used for time to bond with a newly born or adopted child and 19% were used for the care of a seriously ill family member.

“I know from personal experience how important it is for family members to be with and care for their loved ones in need,” Corzine said in a statement. Coverage of the governor’s September 24th event can be found at the Governor’s website:
