GA: Georgia PTA

Georgia PTA represents 300,000 members at the state legislature, state board of education and other education and child-focused organizations; provides support and training for local PTAs through workshops and publications; coordinates special projects to promote the welfare of Georgia’s children and youth, and much more.

IL: Maternal and Child Health Coalition

Since 1988, the Illinois Maternal and Child Health Coalition has been fighting to improve the health of all women, babies, young people and families in Illinois. As an organization, we bridge the gap between policy makers and those affected by their decisions. Through education, we empower people to make healthy choices that strengthen families and communities.

NJ: Statewide Parent Advocacy Network

The Statewide Parent Advocacy Network of New Jersey (SPAN) is a statewide, parent-led organization that provides information, training, technical assistance, support, and leadership development for parents and advocates with parents to improve services and supports for children and families.  Our motto is Empowered Parents: Educated, Engaged, Effective!  SPAN has been an active member of New Jersey’s Time to Care Coalition since its inception.  SPAN provided advocacy training for parents, including parents of children with special needs, and helped connect trained parents to their legislators during the campaign to pass Family Leave Insurance in New Jersey.  We collected family stories about why family leave insurance was important to all New Jersey families, and shared these stories on our website, in our Action E-Alerts, and with policymakers.  SPAN continues to provide information to families about how to access Family Leave Insurance, and is now supporting the Time to Care Coalition’s efforts around paid sick days.
