“One time I was so sick I couldn’t go to work and I couldn’t take care of my daughter either.”
My son was constantly sick, he got pneumonia… we found it was all traced back to a teacher at the day care…because she had no paid sick days was coming to school sick herself…
I was faced with threat of being fired if I didn’t show up for a shift when I was ill.
We certainly haven’t gone far in the last few decades in making life easier for families. When we profess to want parents to do a better job parenting, we need to give them the tools they need to do that.
The more we invest in our employees the more we seem to get back from our employees. We set up a system where we give everybody one hour for every forty hours they work, so if you’re a full time employee you basically earn a little over a week a year… It’s been great for employee well being and great for employee retention.
