I don’t know what I would have done without paid leave

Letters to POTUS

Dear President Obama,

In January of 2013 I experienced a bulging disc and could not work for two weeks while I was recovering. Not only did having paid leave allow me to take the time I needed to recover after my initial injury, but I was also able to take time away from the office during the “normal” work day to go to doctor’s appointments for physical therapy and other fitness classes so I could protect myself from a re-injury.

It has been an expensive journey so I am grateful that I have been able to keep my job throughout it all to pay for the treatment. I don’t know what I would have done without paid leave!

I hope you are able to call on Congress to make sure all people in this country can have access to paid time when they need to recover.

Sincerely,

Julie
