CA: The Los Angeles Caregiver Resource Center (LACRC)

The Los Angeles Caregiver Resource Center serves family caregivers of brain impaired or frail, older adults in LA County. LACRC is a nonprofit organization under the umbrella of Partners in Care Foundation and part of a statewide system of 11 Caregiver Resource Centers that serve the state of California.  The issues of paid sick days and paid family leave are very important to family caregivers as 1 in 6 workers are also caregivers.  The LACRC brings expertise and a diverse constituency to statewide campaign for paid sick days and expanded family leave rights.

NC: AARP North Carolina

AARP’s North Carolina state office exists to advance the mission and priorities of AARP, a national non-profit, non-partisan membership organization that helps people age 50+ have independence, choice and control in ways that are beneficial and affordable to them and society as a whole.  With more than 1 million members in the state and a deep interest in the state of caregivers, AARP North Carolina has been a core partner in the NC Families Care Campaign, including testifying at the NC General Assembly and co-organizing Town Halls on paid sick days.

WA: Puget Sound Alliance for Retired Americans

Older but bolder PSARA members actively engage in campaigns for justice and dignity for all generations. PSARA supported establishing a state Family and Medical Leave Insurance program and was among the first members of the Seattle Coalition for a Healthy Workforce. PSARA members attended every rally and public hearing, and responded to every request to contact Seattle City Council members, becoming a key contributor to the Seattle paid sick days victory.
