Who is leading the fight around time to care in your community?

News
Every year Family Values @ Work honors worker activists on the frontline of the movement for equitable policies that value workers and their families.

Honorees include Arlo Hennessey, a staff organizer at the Southern Maine Workers’ Center, and Tameka Henry, a Nevada-based organizer and member of the Voices of Workers Advisory Group in the Paid Leave for All Campaign. Tameka said her award was “dedicated to her husband and all of the families that need paid medical leave.” All of our award recipients show dedication to the movement. “The things I’ve learned and taken away the most is to show up, show up, show up, and show up again,” says Arlo, a 2021 awardee.

This November, Family Values at Work will once again honor workers, policy champions, businesses, and other heroes of the care movement across our country. The public is invited to nominate a local working champion of paid leave, paid sick and safe days, or affordable child care. Family Values at Work wants to highlight those determined to make a better community and care system for everyone. Take the time to honor the activist who has put families first and is changing the game! Get started here.
