Andressia Ramirez is a Latina activist and community leader based in Wilson, North Carolina. The proud daughter of immigrants from Querétaro, Mexico, she draws from her lived experience to advocate for dignity, rights, and opportunity for all communities.
As Engagement Coordinator for the Workers’ Rights Project at the North Carolina Justice Center, Andressia focuses on educating immigrant and low-wage workers about their rights, empowering them to speak up, and building bridges with partner organizations across the state. She also supports advocacy efforts around workplace protections, such as heat stress standards for farmworkers and pushes back against anti-immigrant policies at the North Carolina General Assembly.
Her work is rooted in collaboration, community care, and cultural pride. In 2022, she represented Mexico as a youth delegate to the United Nations General Assembly, speaking on migrant rights at a global level. She also serves on boards of two nonprofit organizations focused on education and equity.
When she wants to recharge, Andressia returns to her hometown of Pinal de Amoles, where she walks through the cobblestone streets, enjoys local candy, and reconnects with her roots by chatting with neighbors in the plazas her parents grew up in.
