Gayle Goldin

Executive Director
Gayle Goldin, Family Values @ Work Executive Director

Gayle Goldin is Executive Director of Family Values @ Work and a nationally respected policy strategist, movement leader, and former Rhode Island state senator. She has spent more than two decades advancing equitable care policy, worker rights, gender equity, and economic justice at the state and national levels.

Most recently, Goldin served as deputy director of the Women’s Bureau at the U.S. Department of Labor during the Biden–Harris administration, where she provided executive leadership to the only federal agency mandated by Congress to focus on the needs of working women. She managed a broad policy portfolio that included paid leave, paid sick time, child care, gender equity, and workplace protections.

Goldin previously served as campaign advisor to Family Values @ Work, partnering with grassroots coalitions nationwide to advance paid leave legislation and advocate for a national paid family and medical leave program. In Rhode Island, she championed landmark Temporary Caregiver Insurance legislation, helping make the state one of the first in the nation with paid leave protections and guaranteed job protection for workers using the program.

Goldin holds an undergraduate degree from McGill University and a master’s degree from Tufts University.
