Family Values @ Work is proud to join the Paid Leave for All Campaign, A Better Balance, Caring Across Generations, CLASP, Main Street Alliance, MomsRising, and the National Partnership for Women & Families in releasing ONWARD AND UPWARD: Paid Leave Victories from 2020 to Today. The release is the first comprehensive report tracking paid leave progress since the pandemic and the Build Back Better era.

This report documents a remarkable and ongoing period of momentum for the care movement. Since 2020, advocates, workers, storytellers, organizers, coalition leaders, and policymakers have secured paid leave victories in 42 locations and Washington, DC, alongside important federal and local wins that expanded leave protections for millions of workers and families.

These victories did not happen in isolation. They reflect years of collaboration across movements and communities united by a shared belief that every person deserves the time and economic security to care for themselves and the people they love. Together, care movement leaders have advanced bold policy solutions while building the public will necessary to move our nation closer to a universal federal paid leave guarantee.

ONWARD AND UPWARD celebrates the milestones achieved while underscoring the work that remains.
