Connecting Work-Family and LGBTQ Activists

Movement leaders from over twenty organizations representing LGBTQ rights, work-family, reproductive justice, racial justice, economic justice, and labor came together recently to dig deeper into the ways that cross-movement collaboration can propel policy, organizing, and coalition-building that support LGBTQ workers and families.

Building upon last year’s momentum, this group of leaders will continue to work together on advancing broad family definitions in workplace leave campaigns; in uniting against joint opposition; in preparing for 2016 elections; and creating coalitions that are focused on long-term movement building.

The collaborative is led jointly by Family Values @ Work and A Better Balance.
