OASIS is a Family Values @ Work leadership development initiative providing for and building a nonpartisan network of women and nonbinary state legislators who are equity and justice policy champions. OASIS provides skill-building, support and connection for legislators to help them thrive and succeed in their roles. Through capacity-building programs in the areas of resilience and self-care; leadership development, collaborative governance and coalition-building, OASIS fosters legislators’ capacity to be effective and impactful, helping them grow their influence and extend their tenure in office.
FV@W launched OASIS to strengthen the movement for economic justice and the policy-makers who are dedicated to the work. The program’s target audience consists of legislators who are often the most marginalized members of their legislative bodies and whose tenure and influence directly impact the policy work of FV@W.
Since its launch in 2022, OASIS has been run by a Director, with the support of a Program Coordinator. OASIS aims to continue its momentum during 2025, while the OASIS Director is taking on the FV@W Interim Executive Director role. FV@W is bringing on an Associate Director to ensure OASIS can continue to implement its vision while growing and meeting the moment. The OASIS Director is expected to return to OASIS on a full-time basis in late 2025. Pending resources, the Associate Director may be brought on as a permanent salaried position.
