A 6-page brochure featuring selected stories from FV@W’s Working Families Story Bank is now available. The brochure offers a sample of the dozens of personal accounts from workers, business owners, and caregivers currently available from the Story Bank. Stories in the brochure include those of a civl engineer in California who is responsible for the care of his disabled brother, a Seattle restaurateur who helps maintain employee morale and public health by offering her workers paid sick days, and a Connecticut survivor of domestic abuse who was fired for taking time off of work to get medical attention and a restraining order against the man who attacked her.
A growing number of video, audio, and print stories like these are available at the Working Families Story Bank website, from workers and employers from across the country. Some of the people featured on the site are available for interviews by members of the media.
