New Faces at Family Values @ Work

News

This year––and the past few years––have been tough for so many. With what feels like attacks on our freedom left and right, it can be difficult to find joy. But one of the sources of joy we’re celebrating at FV@W is our wonderful team!

In the past year, FV@W has added 9 new team members, and Josephine Kalipeni transitioned  to executive director. We’re now a mighty team of 19––and still growing. Meet some of our team.

Erica Clemmons Dean, Director of Network Programs

Erica Clemmons Dean

Erica Clemmons Dean has been organizing for over 10 years. She got into this line of work through the labor movement, organizing marginalized communities to create better work environments, and lifting their voices for wanting better pay through establishing unions. Erica’s work with 9to5 Georgia helped to amplify the voices of workers and voters in the south. And Erica’s current role as the Program & Network Director at Family Values @ Work, allows her to share her skills and organizing tips across the country, working with multi-state organizations to build power with their members using an integrated voter engagement approach. Erica’s passion for organizing young people and building power in marginalized communities don’t end with the workday. She is a devoted wife and mother, and with her family she enjoys spending time giving back together to their community through various volunteer opportunities.

Tony Iovieno, Individual Giving Manager

Tony Iovieno
Tony Iovieno

Tony was born in America & raised in Austria – the son of missionaries. He loves baseball, musical theater, good food & wine, considers Europe his personal playground, and thoroughly enjoys the uniqueness of his hobbies. Admittedly a city boy, yet somehow married a farmer’s delightful daughter. In ‘16, his family endured a total-loss apartment fire – which served as a crash course on our social safety net. The ‘holes’ were readily apparent, especially for historically marginalized communities. Wanting to take action, yet confused about his place in the work as a white cis-gendered hetero male; a beautiful quote gave him clarity. “If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” At FV@W, Tony will conspire with a diverse set of donors to liberate resources & build power to fuel national, state, & local campaigns that move us closer to economic justice for all.

Marie Lindberg, Assistant to the Executive Director

Marie Lindberg

When Marie applied for an internship at the American Association of University Women – where her grandmother volunteered for 40 years – she could not have imagined how the nonprofit world would shape her. She grew in community with fellow feminists and spent the next decade learning about and organizing for worker’s rights, including for her own colleagues, and reproductive justice in DC. When it comes to making decisions like where you work or whether to be a parent, Marie believes that choice is only real if you have considerable access to resources and human dignity; this is why she is excited to support the transformative work of Family Values @ Work to reverse the devaluation of caregiving in the home and in the workplace. On a quarantine-inspired whim, Marie moved to Santa Fe in 2022 with her partner, pets, and plants, so she could hike, bicycle, and camp all over the southwest.

We invite you to get to know our entire team. Together, we’re working to realize racial, gender, and economic justice in every community and every state.
