On September 24, 2009, New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine held
an event with participating families to celebrate the successful launch of New Jersey’s Family Leave Insurance Program. The governor announced that more than 5,000 families had participated in the program to date.
About 81% of FLI claims were used for time to bond with a newly born or adopted child and 19% were used for the care of a seriously ill family member.
