Our Work

Family Values @ Work is a national network of local coalitions in 27 states leading the growing movement for family-friendly workplace policies such as paid family and medical leave and paid sick and safe days which will result in better individual and public health, and greater financial security for workers and their families, businesses, and communities.

States win paid sick days and paid family leave

Our Priority Issues, Why We Do It

Paid family and medical leave gives individuals and families the time and dignity to care in life’s most important moments — whether welcoming a new child, caring for a seriously ill loved one, or managing one’s own health.

We’ve helped design and implement 14 paid family and medical leave programs nationwide — ensuring millions of workers no longer have to choose between a paycheck and caring for family.

Paid Family and Medical Leave

Everyone deserves the right to take time off for health screenings or when illness or crisis strikes — without fear of losing income or employment. Paid sick and safe time laws make this possible for workers in every sector, full-time or part-time.

Our network has helped secure 64 new paid sick and safe days laws across the country, protecting workers’ health, safety, and economic stability.
