Introducing Our First Game: Born For Care

Our Born for Care Card Deck features beautiful illustrations from artist Rommy Torrico. Each face card details a different type of caregiving most of us will encounter in our lifetimes. Each non-face card features a line of text meant to either inform or inspire action. We designed our Born for Care card deck as a way to spend time with loved ones while learning more about the politics of care. We hope this card deck brings joy and helps players to think about their care life and how we can work together to win a future in which everyone can thrive.

Games to try with our Born for Care deck of cards:

  • SPOONS – A fast-paced game for younger players
  • ALL FOURS – The national card game of Trinidad
  • PISHTI – A game from Turkiye
  • SPADES

Email us at info@familyvaluesatwork.org to be waitlisted for your own deck of Born for Care cards and to suggest games!

Why Games?

We at Family Values @ Work believe that playing games can lead to people seeing themselves as agents of change while creating joyful, memorable moments that inspire action. And honestly, joy is something we need more of in order to sustain our movement. With that in mind, we will be launching a new game every year.

Games can be powerful tools for change. They have the ability to bring people together from different backgrounds and experiences, and help them to see the world from a new perspective. Games can be used to challenge people’s assumptions about the world around them, creating new avenues to question the status quo. Games often require players to work together in order to succeed, fostering a sense of community and cooperation essential for creating a more just and equitable society.
