Partnering with Kabrita USA for Paid Leave

News

After 15 years of building a national movement to create good public policies on paid family and medical leave, more workers, families, companies and politicians are talking about the issue than ever before. Thanks to our state coalitions and many partners, approximately 29 percent of candidates in competitive 2018 races mentioned paid family and medical leave on their website, compared to only 4 percent in 2014. In addition, more companies are publicly announcing their support for public policy on paid family and medical leave—and supporting organizations like ours that are fighting for it.

That’s why we’re proud to announce our newest partnership, with Kabrita USA. The company delivers nourishment to children through their Goat Milk Formula, aimed at babies after they’ve been weaned. Kabrita USA is 100% women-run and led by moms, women who know that paid family and medical leave is essential for taking care of their children, other family members, and themselves.

Kabrita USA’s mission is to empower parents to nourish their child with confidence. The company is also committed to raising awareness about the need for good paid leave policy in the U.S. Founded in the Netherlands, Kabrita’s international staff was shocked when they opened their U.S. branch and discovered that parents were not guaranteed any paid time off after having a child. In their recent blog post, What’s going on with Paid Leave in the U.S.?, they stated: “We want to support all women and parents in bringing their best selves to caregiving. As such, we want to support paid leave policies that help bring security—and confidence—to parents’ lives.”

We’re honored that Kabrita USA has chosen to support Family Values @ Work by donating 5% of all sales on Kabritausa.com in the month of February to our network, in addition to making an ongoing monthly contribution. Their support will go toward our coalitions based in 27 states fighting for meaningful paid leave policies and implementing those policies in states where we’ve already won. We are grateful for this new partnership and their support for working families across the country.
