Jennifer Morales (Any human pronoun is great)

Jennifer grew up in a political, working-class, union home and learned at an early age what it takes for working families to thrive—namely, collective action and policy change. They’ve also spent much of their life working on behalf of children, as a parent, activist, and foster parent. The well-being of children is a huge reason they are motivated to win paid family and medical leave and earned sick and safe days. Raised in the Chicago area, they lived in Milwaukee for over 20 years and served as that city’s first elected Latinx school board member. They’ve also been a doula, a Sunday School teacher, a bookstore owner, and an editor for academic and artistic clients across the country. A devoted fiction writer and poet, their first book, Meet Me Halfway: Milwaukee Stories, was the Wisconsin Center for the Book’s 2016 Book of the Year. They live in rural Wisconsin.
