Kate began her work in social and economic justice as a college intern at 9to5 where she supported paid leave, civic engagement and other campaigns. She earned a B.S. in Community Engagement & Education and later worked in HR administration. That was when she fully recognized the numbers of employees who fall under the protection of federally protected leave policies, but can’t afford to take unpaid leave, and new and part-time employees that are not eligible for any kind of leave. Kate is excited to join the team at Family Values @ Work to continue the fight for fair, family-friendly leave policies for all. In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and caring for the children in her life.
