Linda Garcia Barnard (she/her)

Linda began working for 9to5 on paid leave in the early 90s as a single mom eager to make change for women like her faced with barriers to the workforce. First as an activist, then as an organizer, she led campaigns that lifted voices of those exploited by welfare-to-work policies and the subsequent rise of the temp industry. She moved into finance and organizational management in the early 2000s.

Linda now serves as the Director of Finance and Administration at FV@W where she carries forward a key point in FVAW’s strategic framework of valuing caregiving activities by ensuring policies and practices reflect staff needs throughout the organization. Linda draws her inner strength from her faith, family and reflection on her life journey. She enjoys dancing and reading in her free time.
