Marianne Bellesorte (she/her)

Network Director

Marianne Bellesorte currently serves as Acting Co-Leader of Family Values @ Work.

Her entire life, Marianne has been inspired by the stories of great women. Their stories made her want to show that women could do anything – that they are strong, brave, smart and amazing.

Though her answer to “what do you want to be when you grow up?” might have changed growing up, she always knew who she wanted to be – someone who stood up for themselves and for others. And through her work with FV@W, she’s had the chance to take that stand, and a chance to help others find their voice as well.

Marianne has partnered with Family Values @ Work for almost 20 years as a network leader, part-time staff, and now in a full time role. She’s advocated for paid sick and safe days, Fair Workweek, pay equity, and rights for domestic workers. As co-lead of FV@W’s Pennsylvania network, she leveraged current fights to build long-term power for communities, so that they can lead and win future issues at the intersection of race, class and gender.

Until 2020, Marianne Bellesorte was Vice President of Advocacy at PathWays PA, where she headed the Coalition for Healthy Families and Workplace. After vetoes in 2011 and 2013, Marianne and the Coalition won paid sick days for Philadelphia workers in 2015.

Marianne previously worked for nonprofit organizations such as Dignity Housing and 9to5, the National Association of Working Women. She earned her Master of Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and her Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from La Salle University.
