Staci’s passion for social justice was born from a traumatic experience when her then-4-year-old daughter suffered a stroke in 2010. The lack of inclusive paid time to care policies became her key motivator to advocate and build long-term power for marginalized communities. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Staci’s lived experiences allowed her to stand up for those often left behind, disenfranchised, and ignored. Her advocacy led to working as a community organizer on intersectional issues affecting BIPOC, LGBTQIA, and immigrant communities, as well as electoral campaigns. As a mother, her inspiration is her four children, encouraging them to be the change they want to see in the world. A longtime supporter and ally of Family Values @ Works, she now holds the Democracy Integrated Voter Engagement (DIVE) Program as the Voter Engagement Coordinator. When Staci has downtime, she enjoys yoga, watching sci-fi movies, and being a foodie enthusiast.
