Suzette Gardner currently serves as Acting Co-Leader of Family Values @ Work, and oversees communications, digital, development, and finance—leading internal communications, guiding revenue generation, and operational alignment.
Suzette brings deep experience to FV@W from leadership roles with AARP, National Association of Home Builders, and George Washington University, where she managed large-scale engagement programs, including oversight of multimillion-dollar budgets and complex, data-driven acquisition strategies. Across her career, she has consistently delivered measurable results—growing audiences and donor bases, increasing engagement, and building integrated systems that connect communications, fundraising, and programmatic impact.
At Family Values @ Work, Suzette has led significant organizational growth, including expanding supporter and donor acquisition, modernizing core technology systems, and strengthening the capacity of the network. She has guided cross-functional teams and strategic partnerships to execute campaigns to reach and mobilize advocates, and influence policy outcomes at both the state and national levels. Her work sits at the intersection of storytelling, data, and systems design, enabling organizations to translate vision into sustained impact.
Beyond her professional expertise, Suzette is an artist and dedicated radio programmer. She has been involved with Takoma Radio (Maryland), and WPFW public radio station (Washington, D.C.). She is deeply passionate about justice, art, architecture, social entrepreneurship, community, and public space. Suzette is a board member of Carpe Diem Arts where she contributes to building the Beloved Community through arts and cultural engagement.
Suzette holds a B.A. in history from the University of the District of Columbia, and an MS in technology management and e-commerce from the University of Maryland, University College.
