We’re Closed to Pass Paid Leave

Press Releases

What would it look like if we all paused work for one day? This Women’s History Month, women across the country are coming together to write women’s labor back into history. On Monday, March 18, workplaces nationwide will close for one day to share one powerful message to Congress: It’s time to honor women’s work and pass paid leave. Family Values @ Work (FV@W) and our partners are closing our doors and taking the day off for A Day Without Women to demonstrate what happens when the work of women stops and to call attention to the need for paid family and medical leave

“A Day Without Women is a day of action to make clear that issues that impact working women impact us all,” said FV@W Executive Director Josephine Kalipeni. “It’s women, particularly Black and brown women, who have carried and subsidized the brunt of caregiving work without the support of national care policies like paid family and medical leave.”

We’re coming together in solidarity to demand paid family and medical leave. Family Values @ Work has more than 20 years of experience making paid leave a reality in 14 states. We remain committed to advocating for paid leave for all.
